The Chinese Embassy in Guinea-Bissau held a formal reception on Monday evening to commemorate the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, an occasion that also reflected on the strength of the bilateral relationship with Guinea-Bissau.
Nearly 250 distinguished guests attended, including Guinea-Bissau’s Minister of Social Communication Maria da Conceição Evora, senior government officials, military officers, foreign diplomats, Chinese business representatives, and members of the local Chinese community.
In his remarks, Chinese Ambassador to Guinea-Bissau Yang Renhuo lauded China’s development over the past 76 years and outlined the China-proposed Global Governance Initiative as part of the diplomatic celebration. He also reviewed the steady progress and fruitful cooperation in sectors spanning trade, infrastructure, and cultural relations between the two countries.
On behalf of the Guinea-Bissau government, Minister Evora congratulated the Chinese people and government. She expressed Guinea-Bissau’s commitment to further deepen its strategic partnership with China and to strengthen bilateral ties.
As both nations celebrate this milestone, the reception underscores their intention to build on existing trust, scale up practical cooperation, and advance a shared vision of an inclusive, development-oriented future.
