Jia Wei Honored as ‘Female Leader for Africa-China Collaboration’ at G20 YEA Summit

At the G20 Young Entrepreneurs’ Alliance (YEA) Global Summit, Jia Wei, Chairperson of the G20 YEA China Council, was named “Female Leader for Africa-China Collaboration”, becoming the inaugural recipient of the award. The accolade recognizes her contributions to economic and trade cooperation and empowerment of female entrepreneurs across China and Africa.

The award was presented by Young Entrepreneurs South Africa (YESA) during the Summit’s Women Leaders Forum, which gathered hundreds of women entrepreneurs from South Africa and beyond. During the forum, Jia delivered a keynote titled “From the Great Wall to the Cape of Good Hope: How Women Become Trailblazers in China-Africa Cooperation”, sharing her insights on the critical role of women in shaping cross-regional collaboration.

Jia emphasized that female entrepreneurs, with their unique perspectives and resilience, are increasingly central to driving China-Africa cooperation, especially in sectors such as the digital economy, green development, and technological innovation. She called on women to cross borders and industries to forge new paths in shared development.

The Women Leaders Forum’s successful hosting at the G20 YEA Summit not only elevated women’s voices but also spotlighted the potential of gender-inclusive initiatives in deepening China-Africa collaboration in trade, innovation, and investment.
