Chinese Firm Breaks Ground on Ultra-modern Amusement Park in Tema, Ghana

Greenhouse International Development Group, a Chinese firm, has begun construction on the Bright International Amusement Park, an ultramodern leisure complex located in Afienya, near the port city of Tema. The groundbreaking ceremony was held on October 4, attended by Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama and company leadership.

Once completed, the grand facility is expected to feature a five-star resort hotel with 160 rooms, 20 independent presidential villas, a 160,000-square-meter water park, 500 high-end golf villas, waterfront restaurants, an artificial beach, and an international conference and exhibition center capable of seating 5,000 guests.

President Mahama praised the project as evidence of the confidence Chinese investors continue to place in Ghana’s investment climate. He noted that this amusement park, together with the Bright International Industrial Park, will help to anchor Ghana’s 24-Hour Economy initiative and provide new opportunities for leisure tourism and regional visitors.

Zheng Xiangming, Chairman of Greenhouse International Development Group, described the park as “another milestone in the friendship between Ghana and China,” expressing the company’s commitment to ensure the facility remains vibrant day and night. “In the future, we will deeply integrate into Ghana’s 24-Hour Economy,” Zheng added.

Greenhouse International has been active in Ghana since 2011, having built the Bright International Industrial Park, which includes multiple factories, local employment of roughly 10,000 people, and products designed for affordability.
