A diverse mix of leaders from across Ethiopia’s green economy landscape gathered today in Addis Ababa for the Green Finance Workshop, a high-level event organized by the Africa-China Centre for Policy and Advisory (ACCPA) with support from the African Climate Foundation (ACF).
The workshop, held at the Golden Tulip Hotel, attracted over 45 participants representing banks, government ministries, private enterprises, civil society organizations, green startups, and development partners, making it one of the most inclusive gatherings on green finance in Ethiopia to date.
Themed “Unlocking Sustainable Industrial Growth for Ethiopia,” the workshop focused on addressing practical challenges and opportunities in mobilizing green capital to support Ethiopia’s industrial transformation and climate goals.
In his opening remarks, Paul Frimpong, Executive Director of ACCPA, called for bold, coordinated efforts to link finance with the country’s sustainability ambitions.
“To build a truly green and inclusive industrial future, we must align vision with investment, and commitment with collaboration,” said Frimpong. “This workshop is a call to action for leaders across sectors to move from intent to implementation.”

The Green Finance Workshop marks a pivotal moment in Ethiopia’s transition toward a climate-smart, industrial economy, placing finance, innovation, and strategic partnerships at the centre of its sustainable development agenda.
