Rwandan President Paul Kagame has reaffirmed his country’s commitment to expanding its longstanding strategic partnership with China, during a meeting in Kigali to receive the letter of credence of Gao Wenqi, the new Chinese ambassador to Rwanda. President Kagame described China as a “good friend” and expressed optimism about strengthening practical cooperation across multiple sectors.
Ambassador Gao emphasized that under the strong political alignment between the Chinese and Rwandan leadership, bilateral ties have been elevated to a comprehensive strategic partnership. He pledged a joint effort to boost political trust, deepen economic collaboration, and deliver concrete benefits to the people of both countries.
China stands ready to work together with the Rwandan to enhance political mutual trust and promote practical cooperation to deliver more tangible benefits to the two countries, the Chinese ambassador added.
