Tunisia is accelerating its industrial partnership with China through the automotive sector, as the nation celebrated the inauguration of a new auto parts manufacturing facility by China’s Changchun Jetty Automotive Technology Co., Ltd. in Ben Arous province, marking a fresh milestone in bilateral economic collaboration.
At the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Fatma Chiboub Thabet, Tunisia’s Minister of Industry, Mines and Energy, highlighted the smooth cooperation between the two countries across education, health, and infrastructure, and now, in manufacturing. Tunisians are opening their doors wider to more Chinese investment as they seek industrial diversification.

The new facility is set to produce 5,000 wiring harness sets per day by year-end. Equipped with advanced automated lines and lean manufacturing practices, the plant will serve both Chinese and European automakers.
Wang Chao, CEO of Changchun Jetty, noted that besides boosting Tunisia’s auto parts manufacturing capabilities, the plant has a significant social impact by creating local employment and offering technical training programs.
