Chinese Firm Launches Road Reconstruction Project in Nigeria

China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) has commenced a major road reconstruction initiative in Rigasa, a densely populated ward in Kaduna State, Nigeria. The project, spanning 7.2 kilometers and covering four key township roads, was officially launched at a groundbreaking ceremony attended by Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani.

Governor Sani described Rigasa as one of the largest and most populous wards in the state, noting its long-standing infrastructure challenges. He highlighted that the reconstructed roads will enhance connectivity, ease traffic congestion, and significantly improve daily access for residents.

The initiative is part of Kaduna’s broader “rural revitalization agenda” and is expected to deliver economic uplift for local traders, farmers, students, and civil servants. Mallam Adamu Yisa, a local entrepreneur, expressed that smoother roads will make it easier to get goods to market and customers to businesses.

For many Rigasa residents, the project is more than infrastructure, it’s hope. Thousands of households anticipate better access to healthcare, schools, and business opportunities once the roads are completed.
