The Africa–China Centre for Policy & Advisory (ACCPA) and the China Europe International Business School (CEIBS Africa) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen collaboration on policy, business and knowledge exchange relating to Africa–China cooperation.
The agreement formalises the growing relationship between the two institutions and provides a framework for leveraging their respective expertise and networks to support deeper engagement between African and Chinese policymakers, businesses, researchers and other stakeholders.
The MoU was signed in Accra on the sidelines of the Ghana–China Zero Tariff Policy Roundtable, jointly convened by ACCPA and CEIBS Africa to examine how Ghana can translate China’s expanded zero-tariff market access into stronger export performance and economic opportunities.
Speaking on the partnership, Paul Frimpong, Executive Director of ACCPA, said the agreement represents an important step towards building stronger institutional platforms capable of connecting policy thinking with the practical realities of Africa–China economic engagement.
He noted that the partnership would provide opportunities for both institutions to combine their strengths in advancing informed dialogue and generating practical ideas around the evolving Africa–China relationship.
Prof. Gordon Adomdza, Director of CEIBS Africa, also welcomed the partnership, highlighting the value of closer collaboration between institutions working at the intersection of business, policy and economic development.
The signing builds on the collaboration between ACCPA and CEIBS Africa in convening the Zero Tariff Policy Roundtable, which brought together representatives from government, regulatory institutions, financial institutions, exporters, academia, the private sector and the Chinese business community.
Through the partnership, the two institutions are expected to explore opportunities for joint initiatives that contribute to stronger policy and business engagement and support a more mutually beneficial Africa–China economic relationship.
For ACCPA and CEIBS Africa, the MoU signals a commitment to move beyond occasional collaboration towards a more structured institutional partnership that connects policy, research and business engagement around Africa–China cooperation.
